It's Portable!

Topnotch Gradebook is entirely contained in a single spreadsheet file, making it highly portable. It will open on any computer that has Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice.org without the need to install any additional software. Any data you enter is also stored in the same file. You can store and carry it on a USB memory stick, and even send it to yourself or a colleague by email, and all your data will remain intact.

It's Flexibe!

With Topnotch Gradebook you can enter grades either as points or as letter grades and the spreadsheet will automatically adjust.

According to your preferences, the spreadsheet will calculate the overall grade for a category either by simply averaging the percent grades of the assignments in the category or by taking the sum of the points earned and dividing it by the total points possible.

You can even drop up to 5 of the lowest scores in any category or mark assignments for individual students as excused so they will not be counted in the final calculations.

Topnotch Gradebook gives you the ability to weight each category with a percent, or you can tell it to weight them dynamically according to how many points are possible in each.

Setting up a new class is a flash with Topnotch Gradebook. You can easily configure the spreadsheet to match the structure of nearly any course without having to suffer through an endless maze of options.
