Portability

Topnotch Gradebook is entirely contained in a single spreadsheet file, making it highly portable. It will open on any computer that has Microsoft Excel without the need to install any additional software. Any data you enter is also stored in the same file. You can store and carry it on a USB memory stick, and even send it to yourself or a colleague by email, and all your data will remain intact.

Flexibility

With Topnotch Gradebook, you have complete control over how your final grades will be calculated. You can keep grades for all your assignments in a single group, calculating final grades on the basis of the total points possible, or you can set up multiple categories with varying weights.

According to your preference, the spreadsheet will calculate the overall grade within a category either by averaging the percent grades for the assignments or by taking the sum of all the points earned and dividing by the total points possible.

You can even drop up to 5 of the lowest scores in any category or mark assignments for individual students as excused so they will not be counted in the final calculations.

Ease of Use

All configuration options are straightforward and neatly presented in Topnotch Gradebook along with detailed instructions. No more blind searches for hidden settings that are buried deep in strangely organized menus! 

You don't even need to know much about using Excel to use Topnotch Gradebook. You will never have to edit any formulas. All the important formulas have been locked and hidden to prevent accidental errors.
