The files offered here are contained in zipped
archives. Most computer systems come with pre-installed software for
unzipping compressed files. Windows users who do not have such software
may want to try 7-zip.
Dealing with Macros
The
gradebook file includes VBA macros that add enhanced functionality.
When opening the file you will be prompted with a security alert and
asked whether you wish to enable this content. It is perfectly safe to
enable the macos. However, all of the major functions and
calculations will still work if you choose to open the file with the
macos disabled.
If you save the file to Excel 2007 or 2008
format, though, be sure to save it to the "macro enabled" format (.xlsm
as opposed to .xlsx).
